Living Room: Place the rug so the front legs of sofas and chairs sit on it, with the coffee table centered. Leave about 8–12″ of visible floor around the edges.

Dining Room: Keep the table and chairs fully on the rug, adding ~24″ beyond the table on each side to allow chairs to slide back comfortably.

Bedroom: Run the rug under the bed and nightstands, or place it two-thirds beneath the bed. Aim for an 18–24″ reveal around the bed perimeter.
